CAS Books is a iPhone/ iPad FileMaker application designed to allow the cataloguing of books by scanning the ISBN barcodes found (usually) on their back covers.
The system is designed to work with the Google ISBN API to update a database record with the publication details including an image of the front cover automatically rather than expect an user to enter all the details manually.
The ISBN barcode at the back of the book is scanned using the device camera on the IOS device and all the available publishing information is automatically downloaded from Google.
The system can either be run as a ‘local’ application on the IOS device or be hosted on a remote FileMaker server so that data is stored in one central location.
